Scope of Work

Concept Design

Located on the shores of the Orinoco River in the Amazon Jungle in Para, Brasil, this hotel has many individual and geographic features that no other has. 6 months out of the year the floor of the jungle is flooded. The hotel floats for 6 months and is then in a thick forever for the other 6 months. The unique approach to the design enabled an experience-oriented project, mimicking the design of the “passion fruit” flower and its vines to connect the rooms to the main building.

Based on the Maracuja Flower, this jungle spa is built from 100% local materials and is completely recyclable, reducing the footprint we leave behind.

Modules are fully built in wood, suspended above the jungle floor as not to interfere with the wildlife. The idea is to easily and quickly be able to expand the hotel by adding modules built off site. The materials are all 100% recycled and are designed to have a minimum impact on the site. Nature is everything in a project like this.

In same spirit of the wooden modules and the flower spa, the main building for the lodge is also made with 100% local materials and is completely recyclable.
